Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28th, 1948) is an American actor, singer and children's book writer. In her nearly six decades of professional career she has appeared on television, film as well as in musical theatre. She also gave solo concerts and recorded. She is an acclaimed Broadway performer. She has won seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) along with nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards have been won by four of her Broadway cast albums where she has performed.
Many consider Peters to be the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is most well-known for her performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
